"O Refugio is a beautiful place located in the quiet "suburbs" of Angra, about 20 minutes on foot to the city center, 5 minutes to the swimming area, where you can also take a shuttle bus (40 cents) which takes you to the city in about 5 minutes. The place is beautifully furnished with loads of space, everything you need in the kitchen, a big living room and a great terrace with a BBQ/wood fired stove. On top of that André is a super helpful and very friendly host who arranged an airport pick-up for us, had loads of insight and suggestions and even managed to arrange a rental car for us on short notice. We tried hard to think of something that could be improved but couldn't think of anything!"

"The accommodation is as it appears in the photos and even nicer. the rooms are big and spacious and has a very big patio with bbq area.André is a wonderful host, very attentive throughout the stay at his home.The house was very clean and very comfortable, 5 minutes walk from a pool area on the sea and 3 minutes by car from Angra do Heroísmo.It is one of the best accommodations I have found through booking.It also offers the possibility to take you and pick you up from the airport, as well as to rent a vehicle at a very good price. (the rental of the cars are very expensive)I give it a 10 in everything."

"I would like to thank Andre for being the best host ever! He was attentive and helpful, he arranged our transfer from and to the airport, he gave us a tour of the house, gave us tips on how to get to center, what to visit, etc. The house itself was nothing short of amazing. We were flabbergasted by how great it looked, given how affordable it was. The pictures do not do it justice. It's a huge place that could easily accommodate 6 people. It was super clean and cozy with great location in the quiet part of town. The living room was spacious, with a huge TV (Andre let us use his Amazon Prime account - Thank you for that :)). The kitchen was big and equipped with all the necessary appliances. The bathroom had a huge bathtub, which I'm sure will be a big plus for people who love relaxing in a bubble bath. It also had a washing machine and a dryer which were really helpful. The backyard is private and well equipped. O Refugio is most definitely the best place I've ever stayed at. I highly recommend it to everyone and I'm absolutely coming back here."

Andre's place was as stylish and fun as it looked in the pictures - and very well equipped with amenities! It was a great base for driving, taking public transit, and hopping on tour buses for the island. Andre also greeted us as we arrived and oriented us and checked in along the way. I highly recommend whether you are a couple or a larger group.

Exceptional property in a quiet residential area within a short stroll of the waterfront and well stocked grocery store and only 15 minutes on foot into the town centre. Nearby bus stops provide easy access to the settlements in the hills above Angra where the opportunities for walks are limitless together with the opportunity to easily access the coastal villages on the South, West and North of the Island. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped outdoor space with it's kitchen and oven providing the opportunity to catch some late afternoon sunshine with some tasty drinks and snacks. Evenings in the property spent relaxing on comfortable furnishings with access to limitless entertainment via a huge smart TV system. The bedroom is beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. Cooking facilities are of a high standard with a beautiful high quality kitchen, modern high end appliances and drawers filled with everything you would ever need. The owners have thought of everything!. The host is friendly and supportive.

We had a wonderful time in Andrés's accommodation. O Refúgio is a small paradise. Tastefully and to a high standard. Very clean and comfortable. We felt very comfortable right away. The outdoor kitchen is terrific. We use them to prepare the traditional dish "alcatra". The location of the accommodation is in a residential area. The old town of Angra can be reached on foot in about 25 minutes. André is a terrific host. Very courteous, helpful and very easy to reach. We can recommend the accommodation and would come back again anytime.

Absolutely recommended! Great space, felt right at home. André was a great host, always checking if we needed anything and asking how we were doing. His recommendations where also great. The house is well located and designed and the kitchen well equipped. Everything you need!

Everything was perfect and Andre was a great host. Definitely the best stay of our whole trip to the Azores and one of my favorite Airbnbs by far. Short walk to Angra and short drive to anywhere else on Terceira. Hope to come back soon!

We stayed at Andre's beautiful home on Terceira. It was immaculate, well equipped, comfortable and close to everything. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed some meals in. The back patio was an excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our 13yo son lived the loft bed in the living room. We just wish we had time to use the outdoor pizza oven! Andre was communicative and available for questions and gave some wonderful suggestions. Can't wait to return!

André was a thoughtful and friendly host. The space was beautiful and very clean. The house is located on a peaceful neighborhood. A car is useful to explore the island. It was great. Happy to return one day 🙂

Fantastic house fully equipped! Nice spacious, clean, plenty of towels. Very helpful owner who also came to pick us up from airport and with us went to supermarket for first supplies, very nice! Location fine, quiet neighborhood.

The house was sparkling clean, in a quiet location that was still close to the city center, had all amenities you would need and was spacious and comfortable. We loved the lofts in the house and the back patio. The hosts were lovely and welcoming and very helpful during our stay.

The house is very generous, the kitchen is super equipped and everything is furnished with great attention to detail. The host is very uncomplicated and welcoming. All in all, a highly recommended place to stay.

We absolutely loved every second we spent at O Refúgio. One of the most beautiful and unique spaces we will ever have the pleasure and privilege to call "home." André has designed such an immaculate concept and we enjoyed every unique space and looked forward to returning each day after time spent exploring beautiful Terceira.

The property was very special and beautiful! It is a large house, fully equipped. A nice living room, good bedroom, extensive kitchen with everything you need! If you are in the summer, also a large outdoor area to sit. Parking on site or in front of the door. And the owner is very nice and helpful. Sent us a message a few days before coming, received us in person, explained everything and also helped with all questions! 100% recommended!

The time we spent in Andrés home in Terceira were amazing. The house is much larger the pictures let out. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, then bathroom is great and, generally then amenities are to a very high standard. I would book it again immediately, because it gives you a feeling of well being. Besides, André is extremely pleasant as a host, very welcoming and helpful in every way.

If you’re thinking about booking this place - just do it. Andre is incredibly responsive and is very helpful in recommendations for the island. Will absolutely be returning and recommending this place to others!
